Professional Work Experience

Mechanical Engineering Intern, WSP Vancouver (May 2025 – Dec 2025)

I recently completed an 8-month term at WSP Vancouver, where I designed HVAC and Plumbing systems for residential and commercial projects, with project values of over $10 Million and mechanical involvement reaching $2+ Million.

At WSP, I improved on my knowledge of different engineering calculations (load/ventilation calculations, CSA B52 calculations, pipe/duct sizing, and much more). I also gained experience with modeling (some of my work shown below), professional engineering workflows, and contractor administration.

Due to confidentiality, I am unable to shows specific details and/or talk about specific projects. However, in addition to the experience above, I also created multiple new details that are now implemented in WSP’s standard mechanical libraries; some highlights are the Fire-Smoke and Smoke Damper Details I proposed and created, which were used in multiple of my project submissions. These details showed the accurate size, responsibility matrix, and installation according to WSP’s Standards, and helped mitigate change orders down the line, potentially saving cost in the magnitude of $100,000 or more.
