Vehicle Dynamics
FEA analysis of the anti-roll bar blade’s torsional contribution to the overall front/rear roll rates. This FEM model allowed determination of the deflection of the ARB blades under a given load.
Assuming deflections are linearly correlated with force (E-B for small deflections), we are able to translate this elasticity value to a torsional stiffness (N/mm) – combining this blade rate (2x) with the bar rate, we are able to find the total torsional stiffness and hence hit desired targets for the following suspension parameters:
Roll Rate, FLLTD (Front Lateral Load Transfer Distribution), Roll Gradient, and Roll Frequency.
